When the SPCA approached Phoenix to assist in their proposed building project, we immediately chose it as our ‘community project’.
Their current facility had met its life expectancy and in a community that has more than doubled in population since their facility was built, a new home is essential in keeping pace with the surrounding area for the well being of both animals and staff.
Phoenix Construction is proud to be a major sponsor of the new Red Deer and District SPCA facility.

Donald Administration Building - Westerner Park
With the end of summer 2009, Phoenix Construction was proud to hand over the keys to the new Donald Administration Building at Westerner Park in Red Deer. The nearly 13,000 square foot administration building has multiple meeting rooms, executive offices, warm open lounges and an inviting reception area. Continuous perimeter windows up to the 11 foot ceiling height allow for a bright and spacious environment.

This “timber wood framed” building is equipped with a high efficiency hot water radiant heating and cooling system along with other energy saving features. The heat panels in the ceiling keep the indoor space comfortable for all users.
The building was designed to complement the long term plans of Westerner Park and harmonize with its other exposition facilities. Phoenix Construction built the “Harvest Centre” (17,000 sq ft of ballroom space) for the Westerner Park in 2001 as well. Check out both buildings next time you are in town for a hockey game or a tradeshow!
Red Deer Bottling Company
In 2007 Phoenix Construction won the coveted Building of the Year Runner Up Award from American Buildings Company for the design and construction of the Red Deer Bottling facility.
This 57,000 sq. ft. building serves as a warehouse, office and distribution centre for Red Deer Bottling, the Coca Cola distributor in Central Alberta since 1911.It’s functionality (a completely enclosed loading dock), and it’s use of various materials in its design made it an obvious winner.
