From a management point a view, Phoenix Construction is different from other construction companies in Central Alberta because we put relationships first. We all work hard and play hard as a team which benefits not only our staff but our clients as well. “Shortly after I started working for Phoenix, a friend unexpectedly took seriously ill. Upon informing Ken late on a Friday evening that I would like to leave the next morning to go out West with my spouse and visit him, his immediate response was “of course, and take whatever time you need”. Several days after our return, we were notified of our friend’s passing and the date of the funeral. When I advised Howie & Ken that I would like another couple of days off to attend the funeral, again there was no hesitation in the affirmative response, and to my total surprise, Howie presented me with a cheque to cover our return air fare to the funeral.
